Meet the Team

My name is Michael and I am Network Manager of the LMC Support Network.

I am also the Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee as well as Plexus Support Services which includes the GP Phoenix Programme, GP-S and the LMC Buying Group.

I have worked with GPs since 1996 as part of a 12-year RAF career in the Defence Medical Services service career. My roles since leaving the RAF in 2006 have included work in out-of-hours care, clinical commissioning, and practice management prior to taking up my current role. I have also volunteered as a listening volunteer with Samaritans and led the training department at the Nottingham branch.

I believe that LMCs have a responsibility to support, advise and support GPs and their practices as well as take a leading role in influencing local policy in their areas and that we can help eachother in LMCs to be the best we can collectively.

Hi! My name is Mariah and I am the LMC Support Network Coordinator. I maintain and update the Support Network website, administrate the WhatsApp group and the Forum.

I also work at Lancashire & Cumbria LMCs and have been at the LMC since 2017. I lead on Communications, Advice & Guidance, and liaison for our Consortium.

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am the LMC Support Network Administrator. I help maintain and update the Support Network website.

I also work at Lancashire & Cumbria LMCs and organise training and events and provide support to Central Lancashire, Lancashire Coastal and Pennine LMCs. I also support with Sessional GPs.

Hi, I’m Linsay, and I’ve been the Business Manager of Grampian LMC since 2019. I work closely with our Office Bearers to provide strategic leadership, expert advice, and hands on support to local practices. My role sits at the heart of where General Practice meets the wider health system - influencing decisions, tackling challenges, and driving forward change. A key part of this is supporting practices by advocating for sustainable workload, addressing inappropriate transfers of work, and working with system partners to find fair, practical solutions.

I’m passionate about advocating for GPs and ensuring their voices shape decisions at local, regional, and national levels. Every part of my role is driven by a commitment to strengthening General Practice and supporting the people who deliver it.

Karl joined North & South Essex LMCs in October 2020 on a contractual basis until March 2022 as a Finance Liaison Manager. He then became a permanent member of the team from 1 April 2022.

He also manages the organisation’s Social Media accounts, produces our newsletter and contributes to our website. Prior to joining the LMC, he worked in Accounts for a Colchester based Facilities Management Company for four years.

Karl’s NHS Finance experience was gained after a career spanning over 27 years at Carnarvon House in Clacton. He joined when the organisation was known as Essex Family Practitioner Committee in June 1989. His final role was as Payments Manager for three years when the organisation was latterly known as Primary Care Support England.

Outside of work, Karl enjoys spending time with his family including his Twin daughters. Karl is also an Author having written seven books and is a season ticket holder at Ipswich Town Football Club. He is also a weekly Columnist in the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star newspapers.
